Eske Willerslev receives international award

Professor Eske Willerslev from Globe Institute, University of Copenhagen, wins the Albert Einstein World Award of Science 2024.

The World Cultural Council (WWC) is honoring Willerslev with the Albert Einstein World Award of Science 2024 in recognition of his long, outstanding career, and his important contributions to evolutionary genetics. They honor his pioneering work in establishing the field of Environmental DNA and the sequencing of ancient DNA. The jury also emphasizes his dedication to education, being a role model for younger scientists and an ambassador for modern science.

The Albert Einstein World Award of Science is an annual award given to scientists who have achieved significant accomplishments in their field of science, and have made scientific contributions beneficial to humankind.
